Polar Plunge Lake of the Ozarks

Thank you to a record 654 polar bears for raising $208,000!

This "unbearable" event is a unique opportunity to show your bravery as you support local Special Olympics athletes by walking, running or crawling into the frigid winter waters. Proceeds benefit Special Olympics Missouriís year-round program of sports training and competition for children and adults with intellectual disabilities.

Participants must be at least 10 years old and raise a minimum of $75 by event day. The Polar Plunge is a project of the Law Enforcement Torch Run(R) for Special Olympics Missouri. Osage Beach Police Department is proud to host this event.

You may mail offline donations to: Special Olympics Missouri, 903 Old 63 North, Suite A, Columbia, MO 65201. Please include your name in the memo line of checks.

Per State Park Policy, alcoholic beverages will be allowed only in the designated picnic areas. Alcoholic beverages will not be permitted in any parking area or the plunge event area. Plunge participants considered intoxicated to the point of potentially causing harm to themselves or others will not be allowed to plunge and may be removed from the event area. Park Rangers will be on duty to ensure participants follow the policy.
